Day 23 | Home Scents

Divide your home into zones and pick a scent for each zone, scents that work well with each other to create a wonderland of scents as people travel through your home, each room should tell its own story and have its own secrets.

For the Hallway
For the Kitchen

For the Parlour
For the Bedroom

These are the little things with which to make our homes a welcome haven for us and our guests, our escape and our retreat. Our safe spaces that scents can enhance room by room, even if it’s a one bedroom apartment, the scent of your bedroom, intimate and gentle with a top notes of Lavender for example, ought to be different from that in your hallway a gentle welcoming scent like an English Pear or Freesia, or the bathroom which should be floral and fresh with a hint of sea salt. For the kitchen I would opt for something with almonds or figs or sage and the living room should always evoke being by the fire; Feu du Bois from Dyptique is that perfect scent for the living room; it reminds me of walking into the lobby of Gleneagles hotel… it is so particular.
