Day 20 | The Christmas Windows – The Others

So there are stores and there are stores, stores that know what to do during the holidays with their facades and make it come to live and stores that coast. And oh let’s not forget Annabel’s a every year they take big swings and make Christmas a thing of the Mayfair green. It’s absolute perfection.

CARTIER: I loved last year’s window so I was hoping to fall even more in love with this years window and… I didn’t. what can I say I did not love it as much as I thought or hoped I would, it was nice, cartier boxes on the planetary plane as planets or making their way around the world to their recipients. Its nice, its very cute, but not a patch on last year I have to say but it’s a good window all the same.

PRADA: I loved the Prada window for its simplicity and the fact that we were placed in the setting. It was so chic and exquisite and I could project any story to it as it were. Its afternoon tea with your dear Mama, lunch with your fabulous grandmother, with your secondary school rival, or your mentor… it is just two women sitting to lunch at the chicest eatery in Paris or London or somewhere along the French Riviera, dressed exquisitely. I love the human element to this, the draped jacket on the chair, the draped jacket on the back of the chair the crossed legs, the dabbing in the lips with the napkin, the glasses on the table… everything about this just sings about the chicest Christmas dinner and I am here for it.

TIFFANY: titillating tiffany, this is such a sexy window, such a darlingly sexy video, its simple the store façade draped in tiffany diamonds, picture Beyonce in a jewelled dress performing on stage, it reminds me of her video, Naughty Girl which she performs with Usher. And its hiked up just a little to give us a peak inside the store into the wonder of the jewels that lies within. So good, so damn good.

ANNABEL’S: I liked this but did not love it as much as I loved the one of last year, it was giving me Cartier this year vibes… now don’t get me wrong this is still a stunning façade and for what it is, Annabel’s pushes out the boat but doing too much yet just enough to bring the strip to life in this part of Mayfair and I suppose last year and the many years past have ruined us in that we expect to be transported to another plane where we wish to reside… this one did but not far enough. Still a worthy façade
