I never know how much I crave the beach until its scorching hot in the UK, you know that one day in the summer where everything is so hot, and muggy and stifling only a beach would do and everyone else has the same idea and we hightail it to the beach… yeah that day, we had one of those the other day and as per usual we took a two hour drive to a sandy beach… yes TWO HOURS.
It is about to be one of those of times this coming week, the last gasp of summer to make up for the summerless summers we have had to endure and it is time to head to bea-each and catch a wave… see what I did there?
I was not about to go Brighton to deal with the pebbles so West Wittering it was. The drive there was a ball-ache but the payoff made it worth it. soft sands, soft white sand, sand dunes and clear waters. Family, lots of family, young folks and people just there to have a good time. Very good and clean amenities, restaurants, beach huts you can hire for the day, you can even bring your barbecue so long as you take it with you. The beach itself is clean and shallow for a long time before the drop. Well organised, book your parking in advance there’s enough parking… all in all one of the best days out for the summer.
