Dresses of Summer

Tis the season, what are you wearing? Temperatures are rising and summer’s been calling. I love the summer, the recklessness of the wardrobe, the feeling of eternal fun, longer says, shorter nights, pretty sunrises and pretty dresses. Notice how people care a lot less in the summer about anything really. Don’t you just LOVE IT! Our social calendars suddenly comes alive with last minute meets and late evening eatings, there’s so much to do and see, so let’s start with the basics, the wardrobe.

dress of summer zara

The Lace Dress- in sweet summer yellow, mini and perfectly cut shift. Pair with red pumps; wedges or flats. Lace is a tricky thing an any colour but black, white is much too bridal outside of a wedding but there is something about this yellow that makes it good to go. From Zara

dress of summer katranzou

The quirk print perfect; for a long time I have loved Katranzou and her wicked way with print, this stunning little skater is no exception. Its fit and flattering and I love the story it tells; you know the ever wandering winding road that leads you to a wonderful place. Its the perfect dream dress. With flat espadrilles its a sure thing.

The mini-mumu; I’ll admit this silhouette does not look good on everyone, but if this is your kind of thing they H&M have a pretty one in store for you. As you can tell I love a good floral for spring…and pretty much any season.

If a mumu is not your thing, try this silk grand daddy shirt dress with side slits and tail hem. Its cute and on sale at H&M. Its light and perfect for the heat.

The maxi…self explanatory really, but who doesn’t love a good maxi in the warmer months? This one is from Zara and that is all there is to say about it.

rag and bone dress

The slip dress- possibly the sexiest yet most understated piece to have in your wardrobe right now. Its perfect for the summer months, going into autumn throw on with a chunky card and some Dr Martens…in winter layer with knits and leather up. As I said, all round perfect.
