I know, I know, its been a while but all good things come to those who wait so thanks for waiting. Lol.
Sarah or Saar or S as I like to call her because we are so totally Gossip Girl its not even funny, is one of my favourite people I’ve met through twitter. I’ve met A LOT of favourite people through social media, specifically twitter; none from Facebook because really, nobody goes there anymore! S would be my partner in crime if we were back in high school. I can see us rebelling and causing a raucous at the back of the class, swapping notes and getting detention together and we’d so totally go places mama told us not to, because that’s what your youth is for; the best time of your life and with S I know I will be having a ball of it, she gives me some of my favourite moments virtually already. She’s adorable and funny and I’m convinced she was a lyricist in her past life; the girl can outrap Kanye West of this I’m sure. And like me, she loves herself some mad American TV series.
Without further ado, I give you Sarah, my fellow flipper and NYC Lover.
1. Your TV habit.
Depends on whether I’m watching Belgian TV or my American stories.
I don’t really follow any Belgian TV shows, so it’s quite rare that you’ll find me in front of the TV for an entire night. But if I do, I’ll just get comfy on the couch, preferably with a blanket, and I’ll flip channels until I find something I like. I’m an expert channel flipper, and you either love or loathe sitting next to me when I’m flipping channels 🙂
When it comes to my American stories, whole different story. There’s quite a few shows I watch: Hart of Dixie (Rachel Bilson is my ULTIMATE girlcrush), The Mindy Project (positively obsessed with Mindy, I need her to be my bestie), Revenge (I’m one of those peeps who started watching because of @dkny) , Mad Men and The Carrie Diaries (I just love 80s fashion, and the NYC shots. I’ll watch just about anything set in NYC). There are more shows, but these are the ones that or on right now, and that I must watch. But I like to save them, I’ll ‘save’ up one or two weeks worth of TV shows, and then have a mini marathon of all my stories, for a day. Usually, curled up in my bed, under my duvet.
2. Your vice.
Nail biting! I’ve tried and tried but I just can’t kick the habit… it’s why I must have painted nails at all times. Even if nail polish comes off one nail, I’ll have a hard time not biting that nail. And I usually fail.
3. How would you like to be remembered?
Loyal: loyalty is VERY important to me, someone who isn’t loyal, will never be in my inner circle
Kind to friends and family: I wish I could be kind to everyone, but let’s be honest, I’m not that kind of girl, even though I try,
Determined: once I set my sights on something, I won’t stop until I get there
Good listener not too judgy: in a perfect world I wouldn’t judge, but since this isn’t one, I can only try and not judge people too much, and not judge my loved ones at all.
Caring: I’m not always the best at showing people I care about them, but I love taking care of the people I do care about
Funny: a very important quality to me
4. Ex-boyfriends are?
Ex-boyfriends for a reason. They help you realise what it is you DO want out of a relationship and what you don’t. They help narrow the search in a way :).
5. What’s the one thing you were told not to do but did it anyway?
People weren’t too happy and encouraging when I went for a psychology degree. But I did it anyway, and I’m glad I did, cause all through it I worked hard to prove to the non-believers that I did make the right decision. Another reason why I’m glad I did it is that I learned a lot (obviously) and it helped me look at the world differently, it’s made me less judgy. Also, it made me realise that even though I learned a lot, I now know that I don’t want to work in that field.
I feel you S. xo
