Every woman wants to wear a dress designed by Oscar, and she should. beautiful. gorgeous. feminine, timeless… were words that came to mind as I watched the resort collection. The show opened with a monochrome tone, a stunning black and white print pant suit with purse to match, which set the tone of the collection; slick and charming. From the day dresses to the lovely and loud prints, down to the beautifully flawless evening gowns that closed the show, everything was as breathtaking as it was oh-so-quintessentially Oscar. Young and old there was something for every customer, which is always what I find particularly enamouring about Mr De La Renta;  his ability to never isolate his customer and take her on a journey through style as she discovers her own unique sense of style. Its a pleasure to see.

Luscious greens, in the words of Oscar pr girl, Oscar truly does do the best greens, pretty prints, mints; a peplum skirt suit done to perfection, rich reds, sporty fun…The day dresses were very ladies who brunch; youthful and vibrant and appropriate all at once. Tailored separates came with a fluid ease and transitional feel, there was an off beat baseball T teamed with a full circle gingham skirt, which was a pretty throw in the mix. We waltzed through the sixties with cute boat neck dresses and a dabble of sparkle in pretty shift dresses. The evening gowns were show stoppers but we have come to expect nothing less from Mr De la Renta, floor length, full skirt, sexy…the stunning gingham number that closed the show was divine, even in its simplicity. And of course there was romance in the air. Isn’t that the signature Oscar way; romance with style.

What a lovely show.
