Off the beaten track London; More of Borough

Besides the wonderful Borough market is the surrounding itself, the brownstones and mewses, cobbled streets, nooks and crannies. Your curiosity will lead you on, like it does me whenever I’m there. Pop into Paul Smith around the corner from the market, my favourite branch because its so typically english, with a country manor charm if you will, but, lack of a better word, hip. On the other side the ruins of Winchester castle still stand incorporated into apartment buildings adjacent to it and, possibly the best space to sit and have coffee, the Prêt a Manger cafe, which borrows a wall from the ruin. Hard to think that a castle once lived here and the surrounding was probably nothing like it looks today, but it still maintains that rustic feel. Its beautiful, truly beautiful.
